With New Years come new adventures
I’m excited to announce I’m embarking on a new adventure with EOS Nation in 2019. While that means hanging up the spurs at GenerEOS, I’m so proud of everything we accomplished together in 2018 and am confident they’ll continue to grow without me.
Looking Back
Before looking forward to the future one should review the past.
2018 was a wonderful and exciting year for my life and professional growth. The advent of EOSIO and the launch of the EOS Mainnet changed my life and enabled me to discover technology that I could be passionate about. I have met so many incredible people and made so many friends around the entire world. Truly, I will be forever grateful to the entire EOS community.
The journey started with the founding of the Charitable and Australian Block Producer GenerEOS. Founded with the goal of giving back to the community and using the power of blockchain to give back to the entire world. Being a part of the block producer community provided deep insight into the technical challenges of running a DPOS network and also the interesting political challenges such a DPOS system would bring.
Hot on the heels of the EOS Mainnet launch, I spent many sleepless nights crafting EOSToolkit.io. In a time before block explorers where all anyone seemed to care about was “voting portals.” I created the FIRST web-based tool-suite that used Scatter to allow people to use EOS without a command line.
Made open source so anyone in the community could contribute, it was intended that eostoolkit.io would be tools for the community, made by the community. Over time many wonderful block explorers, wallets, and tool suites have come to fruition and I remain continually inspired by the wonderful work done by the community.
In the midst of the great RAM pump the world saw the EOS community shy away from airdrops due to the large expense and cost that would be incurred to give something away for free. To help alleviate this I created the concept of the airgrab with a prototypical token called “the poorman token.”

Developing this token was my first foray into tokens and writing smart contracts and subsequently allowed me to discover my deepest passion: smart-contract development.
Diving into the world of tokenisation and smart-contract development I found my plate very full. Developing, assisting, airdropping, or advising on a large number of projects all across the EOS ecosystem. I just can’t seem to get enough.
With the desire to share this growing expertise and knowledge with as many people as possible, I mentored at the Sydney and San Francisco EOSIO Global Hackathons, and competed (but not winning — there are some really awesome people out there!) in the London Hackathon.
My love of smart-contracts and tokens was rewarded by being voted in as the Interim-CTO of AirdropsDAC. With the goal of incubating and accelerating EOSIO projects, tokens, airdrops I was tasked with further innovating the possibilities that could be achieved through tokenisation and the wonderful advances constantly being made by the entire EOS development community.
At this time I began decreasing my direct involvement in the Block Producer space and the day to day operations of GenerEOS while focusing on my love of smart-contract development and keeping track of the amazing innovations being made in the space by the many geniuses found in the EOS Community.
One of the first projects on behalf of AirdropsDAC was the ZKS token which provides much needed temporary CPU at a very affordable price. After building a close relationship with Dallas Rushing and assisting the wonderful developers behind the KARMA project with their smart contract and technological direction I was asked to become the CTO for KARMA.
It was extremely satisfying to see the app come to fruition in December. It is just a start and I am looking forward to the ways we can change the world with KARMA and start bringing mass adoption to blockchain step by step.
Looking Forward
Wow what a year that was, eh? Now that that’s out of the way, what’s next for 2019? If it hasn’t already become apparent, I LOVE working on new and exciting projects, the joy of tackling new and interesting challenges, and the sense of accomplishment in accelerating projects new to EOSIO.
On the other hand, getting involved in new and exciting things all the time can be challenging to manage effectively and does not always align well with everyone.
While I have been dabbling in many projects across the EOSIO ecosystem, GenerEOS continues to push hard on a daily basis to provide best in class Block Production for EOS and Worbli and uphold its goals of being a charitable and community focused Block Producer.
Ralf Weinand is the unsung hero of GenerEOS — tirelessly sacrificing his sleep on a daily basis since the mainnet launch to fine tune and operate our block producing infrastructure, while also preparing actual University Lectures to educate academia about the power of the EOSIO blockchain technology.
I am beyond grateful to the entire GenerEOS team for the learning experiences and opportunities that founding and running this block producer has brought. While my journey has led me into the world of acceleration a multitude of projects through smart-contract development, GenerEOS remains steadfast in their goals of educating and supporting the community and the world.
This journey has led me to the decision to depart from GenerEOS so that they can step independently into the spotlight while I focus on accelerating development for new projects within the EOS ecosystem.
I remain inspired by everything GenerEOS hopes to achieve and encourage the entire EOS Community to support GenerEOS in these goals.
Resolutions
Throughout 2018 I have met and worked closely with many people, and two people I have enjoyed working with the most are none other than Yves La Rose and and Denis Carriere of EOS Nation. In 2019, I’d like more of that.
EOS Nation also thrives on being everywhere and working on everything. From their vast Ambassador program, to LINK, to assisting on community projects such as EOS Referendum, Governance, the lost genesis key recovery initiative, and many other projects… EOS Nation is simply everywhere. In 2019, I’d like to be there with them.
Denis has contributed to the EOSToolkit, we have worked together on a team at the London Hackathon, and we have collaborated closely on a number of projects and discussions.
I’m proud to be EOS Nation’s first Partner!
What does this mean? It means I am officially part of the EOS Nation team, working together as Partners with the goal of sharing our strengths and achieving new levels of success.
On a practical level, I’ll bring my smart-contract development expertise, and EOS Nation brings their vast network of community and business connections. This will free me from BP operations and enable me to focus on adding value where I do it best, leveraging my strengths so that my contributions in the ecosystem can be amplified.
I’m extremely excited for the potential and opportunities this Partnership will bring, and the amazing projects that I hope to help in this new year.
